Receive feedback from my computer microphone? How do I solve this problem?

It is a gooseneck microphone standard. I 'm on Windows Vista. I tried adding a channel on the mixer with no luck. Turning down the microphone 100 to 0 in the sound options had no effect on the sound. I always got feedback. My sound card is a Creative SB X-Fi Thanks in advance.

hey just to update the pilot …. just go into device manager and update …… other wise go to sound in the control panel and Just check it out miss nothing placed or not …..
