Etymotic Research, Inc. is an Elk Grove Village, Illinois, United States-based research, development and manufacturing designs and manufactures products manufactured by ear. Operating under the principle closed channel (A canalphone uses specially formulated sleeves to prevent air from the environment into the ear canal), the ER-6i is specially formulated sleeves block noise environment for listening to music lower volumes, drop no artifacts seem odd, and requires no external power, thereby reducing the risk of hearing damage.
